On the road to Thoiry (1970) was taken by the Swiss photographer Peter Knapp (b.1931)  for the French fashion house Courrèges. The empty road and open landscape evoke a feeling of youthfulness and adventure, while the two graphic spots of colour - the space hopper and a bright orange Renault 4 van- are playful and nostalgic at the same time. There’s so much carefree energy in this picture it seems to say that anything is possible.
