Interior Prints. Park Life: A New Chapter in Colour and Character

This month, I’ve noticed a big shift in my aesthetic. I don’t know if it’s the extra time I have now or the fact that I’m enjoying work again, but I’m embracing a more fluid and expressive period. The designs have been renewed with a touch of embellishment, shall I say, and I’ve taken reference from my absolute favourite textile designers: Raoul Dufy and Josef Frank.

The flat shapes of my interior prints are coming together with painterly lines and what I could call doodles that dance around the canvas—giving more movement and personality than I had reached for before. The original connection to Dorset, with the birds and sailing boats, is still there, but this time they have more Lauren-from-Holland-Street pizzazz and flair. I’m really enjoying this individuality coming through.

Colour has also changed quite drastically. It’s funny how you can feel when something isn’t quite finished. I’ve been reluctant to get this printed and into production until now, as the colour felt too flat and lacking. But now, with a new take on a more emotional palette, I feel so much more connected to it.

What do you think? The print is called Park Life and comes in a selection of new colours—hopefully in production this autumn.
