Press Release: About Holland Street
Share
Founded by designer Lauren Barfoot, Holland Street is a luxury lifestyle brand celebrated for its vibrant printed silk kaftans, kimonos, robes, and gowns. Each piece is designed to evoke relaxation and elegance, drawing inspiration from florals, historical textiles, and cultural narratives.
Lauren studied at the Royal College of Art, earning multiple awards for her excellence in placement pattern and innovative use of colour and material. Her experience includes serving as Head of Print for Zandra Rhodes and multiple years of visiting tutoring at AUB and Loughborough University, which laid the foundation for launching Holland Street at London Fashion Week.
Every print begins with a hand-drawn sketch, crafted in-house with care and spontaneity. The brand’s signature engineered digital placement prints allow for precise detailing—such as pre-printed collars, sleeves, and hems—unachievable with traditional block repeat methods. This technique showcases the full potential of digital print and supports small-batch production with minimal waste.
All garments are handmade in Britain, using highly skilled processes and a team of seamstresses during peak periods. Holland Street’s commitment to sustainability includes reduced carbon emissions, local craftsmanship, and thoughtful design that avoids excessive fabric use.
Recent additions include the Classic Camellia Silk Kaftan, made from 100% printed crepe de chine silk and hand-finished in the London studio. The brand’s philosophy—“The Art of Noticing”—celebrates how fabric, colour, and form tell stories and transform spaces.
Holland Street is stocked in select UK boutiques such as Petits Bisous, Dolci Follie, Ayla Rose, Fenwick Bond Street, Trouva, and Polyvore, and has been featured in The Financial Times HTSI, Glamour, Elle Decoration, Living Etc, Selvedge Magazine, and London Fashion Week.
Looking ahead, the brand is focused on expanding its e-commerce presence, enhancing digital imagery and product video content, and reaching a broader global audience.
