This week, St Albans celebrates Home & Interiors Week—a wonderful opportunity to recognise the creativity, craftsmanship and independent businesses that help make our homes feel personal, beautiful and full of character.
Our homes are where we live, rest, entertain, gather memories and express who we are. The colours we choose, the furniture we collect, the fabrics we surround ourselves with and the objects we display all contribute to the atmosphere of a space.
I love the way a room can be transformed through colour, pattern and texture. A beautiful chair, a carefully chosen paint colour, a bespoke kitchen or a statement wallpaper can completely change how a home feels. These details are not simply decorative—they can create warmth, comfort, individuality and a sense of belonging.
It is wonderful to see St Albans celebrating such a varied selection of luxury and design-led names during the event, including BoConcept, known for its considered Danish design and contemporary furniture; Farrow & Ball, with its distinctive approach to colour; Tom Howley, celebrated for bespoke kitchens; Kutchenhaus, offering German-made kitchens; and A Fold of Chairs, showcasing restored mid-century furniture and traditional upholstery. The programme also includes Marks & Tilt, OCA Gallery, Dwayne Edwards and Moneyhill Interiors.
Together, these businesses reflect the importance of thoughtful design, quality, craftsmanship and creating interiors that feel individual rather than mass-produced.
Although I’m not exhibiting at the event, I feel very proud to have created a collection inspired by this wonderful place. Holland Street’s new Soulful St Albans collection of fabrics and wallpapers is rooted in the colour, character and atmosphere of St Albans, bringing the spirit of the city into the home.
At Holland Street, we have always been interested in how colour, print and fabric make us feel. Just as clothing can express personality, interiors can tell a story about who we are and the lives we lead.

The Soulful St Albans collection is my way of celebrating the place I know and love through rich colour, expressive pattern and beautiful textiles. The fabrics and wallpapers are designed to add warmth, individuality and a little more soul to the home—whether used for a statement wall, a favourite chair, curtains or simply as part of a layered interior.
So, while I’m not taking part in the event itself, I’m delighted to see St Albans celebrating the world of interiors and proud that Holland Street has a collection inspired by the creativity, history and character of the city.
